Batavia Library Programs through August

Waterfall Acrylics
For teens and adults, two painting sessions scheduled for Saturday, June 22, at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. All supplies will be provided, and pre-registration is required.

Mystery Book Club
For adults, and held on the last Wednesday of every month, at 2 p.m. The May 29 title is Bluebird, Bluebird. The June meeting is scheduled for June 26, and the title to be discussed is The Life We Bury.

Therapy Horses
All ages, Wednesday, July 10, from 11:00 to 12:00. Meet Graham Cracker and Tater Tot, small therapy horses from the Cincinnati Therapeutic Riding and Horsemanship organization. All attendees will be able to pet the horses and groom them, promoting bonding between groom and horse. Requires pre-registration.

Second Wednesday Book Club
For adults, meets every month on the second Wednesday. July 10 and August 14 are the upcoming meetings, at 2:00 p.m. The July title is Gulp: Adventures on the Alimentary Canal, and the August title is The Great Alone. No pre-registration required.

Pets Have Feelings, Too!
For kids, ages 5 to 12, July 19 at 1 p.m. The League for Animal Welfare will bring a pet to join us and will discuss animal’s feelings and methods of communication. Requires pre-registration.

Fantastical Beasts
All ages, on Monday, Monday July 22, at 6:30 p.m. Three avian ambassadors from Raptor, Inc., will visit the library for a presentation on the fantastic characteristics of some feathery friends that appear in Harry Potter’s world. Requires pre-registration.

Harry Potter: Escape From Potion’s Class
To be held on Saturday, July 22, in four sessions: 11, 12, 1, and 2. Sessions are for ages 10 and up. Anyone under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Each participant will follow clues to escape Snape’s potions room. Refreshments, crafts and games for all ages will be part of the fun. Requires pre-registration.

Mystery Book Group
Adults, meets every month on the last Wednesday at 2 p.m. The July 31 title is Redemption Road, and the August 28th title is The Witch Elm. No pre-registration required.

Wilderness Survival 101
All ages, held on Tuesday, August 6, at 6:30 p.m. Learn how to read a compass, identify wild edible plants, and basic first aid. Pre-registration is required.
