Mayor John Thebout has called a special meeting of the Batavia Village Council to discuss two ordinances to facilitate the new Streamside residential development by Hal Homes.
Streamside plans call for 265 single-family houses and 300 apartments on 145 acres north of State Route 32 and west of Herold Road. Hal Homes is ready to break ground, and Ryan Homes is under contract to build the first 65 houses. The village has agreed to provide pass-through bond financing for $2.8 million to build infrastructure. Liens on the property will secure the bonds, and special assessments will provide the funds for repayment, with no village money going to pay the cost.
The Village Council Monday will consider one ordinance to levy the assessments and another ordinance to issue the bonds. The ordinances are ready for the Council to approve.
The meeting is at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2019, in the Batavia Armory Town Hall, 65 N. Second St., Batavia.
