The Ohio Department of Transportation has completed repairs and resurfacing of the Main Street Bridge in Batavia.
The bridge is part of State Route 132 and State Route 222 and is the former path of State Route 32, as well as carrying the village's Main Street. The village and state share maintenance of the highways in the village limits, but the state has sole responsibility for all bridges on state highways. ODOT restricted traffic on the bridge to two lanes from the end of September through mid-November, resulting in frequent traffic backups at rush hour, sometimes severe.
Batavia Village resurfaced West Main Street immediately before the bridge construction.
