ZONING
The Village is zoned for the protection of property values. You should contact the Village Administrator before starting any construction or remodeling.  Permits are required for most construction including garages and car ports. Permits are also needed for all signs, banners and displays; cutting streets, replacing or installing sidewalks, landscaping or planting trees in the public right-of-way.
CURFEW
Children under 18 years old must be off the street by 10:00 pm weekdays and 11:00 pm weekends unless accompanied by a parent.
SEVERE WEATHER WARNING
The siren on Main Street has a severe weather warning system installed.  When activated the siren sounds a solid tone for three (3) continuous minutes. You should take cover and listen to broadcast stations for emergency instructions.  The siren is tested on the first Wednesday of every month at Noon.

VILLAGE WIDE YARDSALES
Semi-annual dates are set by Village Council for Village wide yard sales.  Dates vary so you should call the Village office for current dates. A sign permit is required. Residents may hold sales at other times during the year.  Residents who wish to sell food items must file an application with the Clermont County Health District., at 2275 Bauer Rd. Call 732-7499 for information.
BRUSH PICKUP
The Street Department picks up brush on the first Monday of the month, weather permitting.  Place brush at the edge of the road.  Brush, brush clippings and branches up to 4" will be picked up during Spring & Summer and leaves in the Fall provided  they are free of grass clippings,  trash, paper or metal.
REFUSE AND RECYCLING
The Village contracts with Rumpke Waste Inc. for collection of household trash.  Trash is collected on Wednesday.  Households are limited to six cans per week. Do not set out your trash before 3:00 pm on Tuesday. 

Public bins on Main Street are for street generated litter only and should not be used for household or business trash.
RECYCLING
Recycling bins are available at the Village Office.  The following items are accepted for recycling:

#1 & #2 Plastic Clear & colored glass bottles
Newspapers & catalogues
Brown grocery bags
Aluminum & bi-metal beverage cans
Steel food cans
Aerosol cans

Please rinse all items and remove lids.  Place newspapers and magazines in brown paper bags and place beside the bin.  There is no charge for recycling.
BATAVIA UNION CEMETERY
The cemetery is jointly funded by Batavia Village and Batavia Township and is operated as a "Union" cemetery in conformance with the laws of the State of Ohio.  All cemetery operations are under the direction of the Cemetery Board.  The Board meets monthly on the first Thursday at 7:00 in council chambers at the Mayor's Office.
