On Wednesday, the Village of Batavia had the honor of hosting an open house for the proposed senior facility which will be located on College Drive and named Dimmitt Woods.  County Historian Richard Crawford gave a wonderful account of the history of our esteemed resident Ezekiel Dimmitt for whom the facility is being named.  Penny Balzhiser, whom all of you know from her work at Senior Services chose Ezekiel Dimmitt because he gave so much to our community.  Three of Ezekiel Dimmitt's descendents attended the open house.  They were Martha Dunham, Mary Pratt and our own Skip Parrott.

   I am honored as your Mayor and a fellow resident of the Village of Batavia, to have this much needed and beautiful facility for our seniors be located here
